Mr. McCarthy has more than 37 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry. He joined McDermott with the combination with CB&I, where he served as Executive Vice President of the Technology operating group. He joined CB&I in November 2007 as part of the acquisition of Lummus Global. Mr. McCarthy joined Lummus in 1974 as a process engineer and was involved in the design of first-of-a-kind plants for the pharmaceutical and inorganic chemical industries. After leading a number of design teams on styrenics projects, he moved into a process licensing role. From 1980-1990, he held various product and regional (Far East) marketing leadership positions. Starting in 1990, he held various general management positions in the Lummus Technology business. In 2006 and 2007, he was responsible for the Lummus Houston EPC Execution Center.
Mr. McCarthy holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Pace University in New York.
