Dr. Jihane Ball

Corporate Director for Circularity


Jihane currently serves as Dow’s Lead Global Sustainability Director. In this role, she is accountable for driving the development and execution of Dow’s circularity roadmap to guide the enterprise’s transition to sustainable business models.

Within Dow, Jihane collaboratively enables the advancement of Dow’s 2025 Sustainability Goals and Dow’s ambition to become carbon neutral by 2050. She also acts as a sounding board and strategic advisor to Dow’s Packaging and Specialty Plastics business as it implements its circularity strategy.

External to Dow, Jihane serves as Dow’s delegate to both the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and the International Council of Chemical Associations, supporting the CEO’s work in both organizations.

Since joining Dow in 2006, Jihane served in several roles in product safety and compliance in both upstream and market-facing businesses. She also worked in Dow’s U.S. Government Affairs Group where she managed a policy portfolio that included Federal and State policies relating to chemicals and health, the environment, STEM education, and workforce development. Most recently, Jihane had oversight for Dow’s global product safety program and led Dow’s professionals in the fields of Product Stewardship, Product Regulatory, Hazard Communications, and Toxicology, Environmental Research, and Consulting (TERC).

Prior to joining Dow, Jihane worked as an environmental toxicologist and regulatory specialist at The Estée Lauder Companies in the United Kingdom.

Jihane completed her studies in the UK, earning both her Master’s degree in Toxicology and her Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Surrey. She also received her Bachelor’s degree (First Class Honors) in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Westminster in London. She grew up in Lebanon and is dual national of Lebanon and the UK. She lives in Switzerland with her husband and son.
